Long Lake is located near the middle of Emigrant Wilderness, in the Stanislaus National Forest.  The lake is located just below the treeline, at an elevation of 8698 feet (2650 m).  The view is stunning, though this pano can't convey the full effect, hopefully it get you close.  The best way to see this spot, of course, is to lace up your boots and head out there!
